Grace Otinwa obtained her Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Lagos. She has served as the Head, Department of Human Kinetics & Health Education, University of Lagos (UNILAG). With a career that spans three decades, she is highly productive and has contributed to scholarship in the numerous books she has published and her research findings which has been presented both at national and international meetings, some of which earned her awards. She has been a resource person for Federal Ministry of Health; World Health Organization, and United States Agency for International Development (USAID). She is a Consultant and Facilitator on health issues (exercise prescription, fitness and wellness) in workshops and seminars for various organizations. She is a member and fellow of some professional organizations such as Nigeria Association of Sports Science and Medicine (NASSM) and Nigeria Institute of Security. She is a member of the U.S-based International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance (ICHPER.SD) where she served as the African Regional Secretary, and presently the Regional Vice- President. Professor Otinwa is a recipient of research grant from University of Lagos and has published her research findings in foreign and national journals. She is a four time recipient of UNILAG Annual Research Conference & Fair Awards; and has received the following ICHPER.SD, USA awards: Biennial Distinguished Administrator Award, Biennial Outstanding Contribution Award, Gold Medal of Honour Award for Outstanding Contribution, Merit & Visionary Leadership and Biennial Outstanding Contribution Award. She received the University of Duisburg-Essen and The Willibald Gebhardt Research Institute Award as a Distinguished Workshop Speaker at the Global Forum for Physical Education Pedagogy in Germany in 2009. She is a Reviewer for some international journals including the Global Journal of Health and Physical Education Pedagogy. She was a member of the Governing Council of Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State and Board Member of schools. She has served in various capacities in the Department, Faculty and the University. She is presently the Director of Quality Assurance and SERVICOM, University of Lagos. She is married to Engr. Ajose Olaribigbe Otinwa and they are blessed with children.
