These principles emphasized the importance of providing basic services in a timely, honest, effective, and transparent manner. Consequently, the Quality Assurance and SERVICOM Unit was formally established on May 12, 2012, operating under the Office of the Vice Chancellor.<\/p><p>Since its inception, the Unit has been led by a Director who reports directly to the Vice Chancellor, supported by a Deputy Director. The team includes Desk Officers for Quality Assurance and SERVICOM, a Media and Information Management Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, an Administrative Secretary, and an Administrative Assistant.<\/p><p>Over the years, the Unit has had five Directors, starting with Prof. Cecelia Igwilo, who served as the Director of Academic Planning and the Director of the Quality Assurance and SERVICOM Unit from 2006 to 2012. She was succeeded by Prof. Solomon Adewale Okunuga, who served from 2012 to 2016, followed by Prof. L. O. Chukwu from 2016 to 2019, and Prof. Grace O. Otinwa from 2019 to 2023. The current Director, Prof. Olufemi Saibu, assumed office on May 1, 2023.<\/p><p>The Unit has also had several Deputy Directors, including Dr. Virgy Onyene, Dr. Immaculate Nwokolo, Dr. S. Adebayo Oladipo, Dr. Solomon O. Azumurana, Dr. Ayodele Elizabeth Omotayo, and the current Deputy Director, Dr. Eno Akarawak, who will serve until 2026.<\/p><p>Throughout its history, the Quality Assurance Unit has remained committed to promoting excellence and accountability within the University of Lagos, ensuring that the institution remains true to its core values of providing quality services to deals with strategy, procedures, standards, organization, responsibilities, implementation, monitoring and revision.<\/p><ul><li>Monitoring System: Monitoring of Lectures, Examinations, Research Performance, Student&#8217;s progress, drop-out &amp; pass rates, feedback from labour market, Alumni, Programme Partners and vendors.<\/li><li>Periodic Review: Provision of formal mechanisms for periodic review and evaluation of the quality of the core activities of the programmes and degrees, research activities and community service using monitoring systems and quality manual.<\/li><li>Quality Manual: The Quality Manual of the University of Lagos Quality Assurance and SERVICOM Unit documents all regulations, processes, and procedures concerning quality assurance in the institution.<\/li><li>Reports and Publication Mechanism: In addition to daily and weekly updates on our media platforms, monthly, quarterly and annual reports are presented to the public at our monthly and quarterly meetings and our annual public engagement customer service weeks, where we appraise and report current development and milestones of quality assurance in the University.<\/li><li>Stakeholder Engagement and Feedback Mechanism: Engage and interact regularly with all the quality assurance officers, service provider units, students\u2019 representatives, employers of labour international institutions involved in quality assurance to be on top of the issues and current trend in quality assurances and follow ups on the
