Welcome to the Quality Assurance & SERVICOM Unit.
The Quality Assurance &SERVICOM (QAS)Unit was established in April, 2012 under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. The Unit was created to ensure that the University’s Administration is committed to effective and efficient service delivery and primarily to actualize Quality System in the University of Lagos.
The Director, Quality Assurance &SERVICOM Unit, headed by a Professor of Mathematics is directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the Unit.
The main purpose of the unit is to create in every staff and student a high level of commitment to vision, mission, values, core functions and the standards that can put the University at the Fore-front of academics.
The Unit is responsible for setting up policies that will enhance Quality in Teaching, Research and effective service delivery. The Unit willregularly demand for accountability system from every Unit of the University. We equally designs, establishes and maintains a QA programme in all departments and units. Drives the implementation of SERVICOM principles at all levels of service windows, disseminating best practices and other tips on services.
In collaboration with the Faculties, Departments and Units, QAS Unitdevelops and implements a number of innovative service delivery approach that will enhance the quality of work and performance of all staff and students across all levels within the University.The Unit has also developed a web-based Information generation system accessible via our website, to help our Staff and Students with access to provide information on staff performance at the work place and assessment of the various courses in the University. This system ensures up-to-date information which helps both staff and students in day to day teaching and learning environment.
To support the University’s services delivery,Quality Assurance & SERVICOM Unit has put in place network of SERVICOM Officers that has an extensive monitoring coverage in the University. This is to provide staff and students easy access to air complaints and put forward suggestions.
Quality Assurance & SERVICOM Unit will always work to support the vision and mission of the University to sustain and enhance the University’s excellence as an institution of learning through ensuring efficient and effective performance of duties and responsibilities in academic and administration.
